Some Bikes..

Billy, my broski, decided to make the change from skateboarding to BMX so he's been practicing on his old mongoose bikeee haha... right now he's saving up to buy david's bmx bike which is probably 384729347 lbs lighter no joke.

I decided to take some photos and play with my camera because it was finally dece out today.  Last time i did some bmx photography was at Brooklyn Banks in NYC in november.. so it's been a while.  I only took a few photos because there wasn't a lot to work with.

All moves are jethops since he just started and the bike is really heavy (and he has to build up some muscle LOL).  But yea... enjoy. Please also note that these photos are conceptual, only one action.  I tried using my fisheye but i need more practice since it is manual focus.  Look for more use of the fisheye on action photos in the future. Right now i'm using the fisheye for conceptual.

Portfolio

okay, so, i was just surfing around on the web and i came across an advertisement for making books.  I thought it was interesting so i clicked on it....

its called blurb.com and im going to use it to publish my portfolio.  It'll be a collection of my photography from 2005 to 2008.  It'll be nice to do a portfolio in this form because it'll be a hardcover book that will last and i have full creative control... Ill be able to write my story, medium, hardware and inspiration for the photo under it on the page next to it.. whatever i decide.  I am so excited for this to get published... and the best part is that blurb.com can even sell it on their website.  I have a feeling that this book won't get done until the summer because i ahve to write an intro and all that.. and its kinda hard to write when you think about it going in a book because you want it to be the right tone.. but i'll get started on that when things cool down with the work at school.  anywaysssss, i have 2 new photos up on deviant art.. go see that... and here are some more photos from my website!

Armory Photoshoot

So here are some more photos... i'm done with midterms... happy about that...these are all done with my old olympus camera... edited with photoshop elements 3.0, click to enlarge.

Let me give you some idea..
The armory is across from nesconset plaza.  Nesconset is where we all grew up, plentyyyy of memories here.  "it is what it is".   Typical attitude.  Nothing high and fancy about this place.  Its the more down to earth part of smithtown.  The Armory is abandon.  Plenty of NesOG tags.  Int he summer we all hang out here, just walk, hang, ya no.  Models in these pics are Jnet and Nicky.  Can't wait for this summer... but their doing renevation work, so we'll see how we allllll deal with change.....

okeioskies its nice out, im going!

Rainy Rainyy

Just got done with studying for a marketing midterm for tomorrow.  I had trouble focusing all day because i just didn't want to do it! Anyway, today was good...pretty relaxing.  David came over, napped, i studied kinda and just enjoyed not having any practice/lifting today.  I got a real busy day tomorrow.
Wake up 5.30
Practice 6-8am
Class X3...end 11.20
lifting 11.30-12.30
play with little kids til 1.30
then midterm for an hour and a half!
JEEEZE.
Today i'm gonna take a break from adding my photo's once more and add some artwork from my book that david got me over christmas break.  I scanned it last night.
Above: I designed this character a year ago and found it on a paper in my desk at home so i decided to incorporate it in my new designs.  Medium: Prismacolor Markers, Paint Markers, and Micron Markers .01 and .05.  I love the Prismacolor Markers because they come out so smooth! Click to Enlarge.

Above: This was the first composition I did in my little black book.  I incorporated my design again and my line design.  It took me a day to do, meaning breaks involved of course! Medium i this one is paint markers and Micron Markers .01 and .08.  Click to Enlarge.

So the next blog will probably have more photography, I'm thinking the armory photoshoot I did in the summer of 2007, pretty much all black and white, high contrast and digital... with my old camera.
comments/thoughts welcome..

What, a dayyyy

I'm taking a break from posting some of my pictures up and writing for once. David got me onto this.. Let me just say I have many photo's to add.  My other website contains all of them I want to post, but I am going to use this blog to divide them up based on dates taken and what type of medium and so on and so forth.  For my other site, i use deviantART.  It's a great site, but i feel it connects me with other photographers globally, than here in the united states.  Nonetheless, i will still be checking and posting there.

My film photos were taken with a pentax zx-m back when i took class.  Those images were scanned so thats why they have poor quality.  Most of my older..kinda recent stuff was taken with one of those small digital cameras... like a 7.2 megapixel.... w/e it wasnt the best, but it was a cameraaaaa, anddd i got to practice my framing/editing etc. until i got my graduation gift.

As of now.  I have a Canon Rebel XTI.  I have the standard 18-55mm lens, it came with and David got me a Zenitar fisheye : )  Manual focus.  Its been a while since i've used manual focus, but i love experimenting with the shutter/ap. I wanna get familiar with all of this then work on getting more.

Anywaysss, I can't wait to go home and take more pictures... Billy (my bro) is getting more involved with skateboarding and Jnet (my sis), well, she's my model you see in my older stuff when i lived home.

I'm gonna wrap this up, look through my photos, comment, let me know what you think, click to expand, and yea, im open for your thoughts.  Also check out my other site.
